Now this board has 6 SFC labelled chokes so i assume it has 6 phase power design (that's how you count it, right?) And the gaming 5 edition has 8 of these SFC cubes so 8 phase (again, correct me if i am wrong).

However after the purchase, i started searching about how to overclock properly and came across something called vrm and power phases and how important they are for overclocking. I originally planned for gaming 5 edition but since this was available for much cheaper and i do not plan to sli so i thought this would be good too. Hello there oc community, i just recently bought msi z97 gaming 3 (slightly used) and i plan to do 4790k build with gtx 970. Now my question is that exactly how important is this phase thingy and will my motherboard be good enough for lets say 4.k stable overclock? Or will i encounter difficulties due to weak VRM? Do i need to worry about this stuff? I can sell this board and get the GAMING 5 edition but that would be a hassle i don't want to deal with until necessary. I wouldnt mind clarification from someone about the differences in the M.2. The Samsung 850 NVME (PCIe) drives only have one notch. Dont know if that actually matters or not though.
